Hi - long time no post - no issues apart from dead battery during lockdown! 500L Trekking 2014. Recently did a 1,500-mile road trip round Lakes, Southern Scotland and Northumberland, car performed well, no issues, great roads, good weather.
But it's been raining hard on and off lately, and a few days ago some water dripped down inside the car, driver side, from the top of the A pillar when I pulled away from the lights sharply. I pulled the interior trim away and the top section behind it was full of water. The interior trim behind the sun visor was also damp. I put some black gasket sealant around the top of the windscreen by the A pillar and along as far as the centre of the windscreen, but water is still getting in.
Is this a known issue? Any idea where the water might be getting in?
Thanks all.

Hi :)

Not something commonly posted on here..

2 basic questions:

Factory fitted screen? Not cheaply changed..

What kind of roof..? how much glass..if any .

Only thing that DOES appear periodically.. on the 2 door 500..

The body panels all meet in a hidden seam.. and there is a rubbery-plastic trim

Along the edges of the roof.. that can let water in ( 8 year old assemply goo may have dried and cracked..)

Not common.. but seen a few on here

Puntos leak at the rear with a similar issue.. cracked sealant

But.. generally issues in any car where you are talking..
Sunfoof drains and poorly fitted screens

I was going to buy an L.. but got the 2 door in the end.. so am not certain of your layout
