Hi,

After the recent cold spell my washer jets have stopped working on my 54 plate Ulysse. I thought they were iced up at the time, but now I realise that the motor isn't sounding at all when the washer stalk is pulled or twisted.

My first thoughts were a fuse. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to which fuse it is? I don't fancy randomly removing fuses to find the culprit.

Next thought was a disconnected loom. I guess it is a wheel off and liner off job?

Last thought was broken pump. Would a C8 pump fit (they seem to be cheaper on eBay)

Many thanks in advance.

Check fuse-box. Propably the water will have been frozen, so the pump couldn't pump ice... Try to check Fuse 14 (10 Amp) in the engine bay (the upper left fuse, when you stand in front of the car). ;-)

Sorted, thank you (y)

It was the fuse as I had first expected.

I've put a 5amp in there for now until I can get some 10 amp ones.

Don't be surpised if this fuse blows again within a few seconds ;-)

Yea, I realise that. But the only other one I had was a 30amp one and I didn't fancy replacing the wiring! At least I know the pump works and doesn't need replacing.

I'm going to get some replacement fuses tomorrow. All of the ones I have in the garage are too large (older type)

Thanks guys the same problem on my 2004 Ulysse, although I had the added complication that the pump had stopped working on the back window which I understood from other parts of this forum is the 'reverse' for the pump (it goes forward for the front window then polarity on the motor is changed to reverse for the back window- very clever!) so I had to change the pump as well - quite straightforward once I knew how.

Anyway thanks again I think you saved me at least a couple of hundred quid as the fuse was easy and cheap to change. Spares are under the steering wheel by the way!
