Sorry to leave yet another 'help me' post. Ive searched everywhere and I've even been down to Halfords to read the older Haynes manual but couldn't find it in there anywhere.
Anyway, this morning got in my car and two warning lights stayed on when I'm driving - I red circular one under the handbrake like with like a funny T shape in it and and amber one underneath the 0 on the rev counter...this one:

The red one has gone off but the amber tap shaped one is still on. Anyone know what this is telling me? The cars only done 5500 so it couldn't be anything to bad could it?

It's a 53, 1.2 petrol.

Thanks!!!

Ok, woo finally established that the amber one is the engine management light. Although what this means I khave no idea. Getting my horn fixed soon so I'll have them check it when I go. Still don't know what the red one was though, perhaps power steering?

was your steering really heavy ? ive had the same problem with that one but i just turn the car off and on again then its gone

No the steering was fine. I don't drive with the city button on either. Then I put it on to park and it went lighter as usual. Starnge things cars :-S

If its basic 1.2 it wont have abs.....could well need the speed sensor loom modification which is not expensive but not covered by warranty.

Well there is def a warning light for it, a circle with ABS written in it. It is only a 1.2 active though. How expensive is not expensive? Is there a reason it wouldn;t be covered under warranty? (If you don't mind explaining sorry)

Must have abs then;) Speed signal comes from abs in this case not speed sensor.

Wiring not covered under 3rd year or 99% of other aftermarket warranties.

They never mentioned wiring not being covered when I bought the car, but stupid me never got a a warranty form with details about what was covered and what wasn't. I'll definatley learn from my mistake there. How much would I be looking at then for Fiat to fix it (and would it do any damage if I just left it )

I shall let you know and thank you very much for your help. (I will buy a book and learn about cars, I swear!!)

my mk2b active dosent have abs, tho there is a warning light for it (it just dosent light up when you put the key in)

Are you sure the abs light lights up when you turn the igniton on?

No it doesn't light up but there is a light for it :) I'm guessing it doesn't have it then, I dunno.

On the other hand, all lights have now disappeared on the dash, does this mean whatever the rpoblem was has now fixed itself?

To be honest I would in the interests of safety (electric steering) but its your call.

You could put it down to a 'one-off' but if it happens again then definately get it looked at.

Well it's booked in next friday for the horn to be fixed so theyre going to take a look then. Yesterday and today it's seemed really juddery as if it's about to stall when im going from stopped (say at lights) to go in first. Once or twice I could perhaps put down to my inexperienced driving but i'm not THIS bad!! lol. I'm having to put quite a lot more gas to stop it so it's revving like mad, I think people at the station now think im some sort of girl racer in my Punto!!
