Technical warning light on dash for gearbox. HELP

hi first post, hope people can help!

the other day i was about to drive home and i noticed a Red warning light flashing, my book says its a warning light for the automatic gearbox but fails to explain the problem.

im driving a 2003 speedgear automatic 16v. i drove the entire way home up the m25 for 45 mins but havent driven it since. the whole way home i had no problems but id still like to know whats wrong and more importantly is this going to cost alot....

Hello mate and WELCOME TO THE FORUM!

The speedgear can suffer from dampness in the electrical connections on the gearbox. its about the right time of year for it, so might be worth checking all the connections and giving them a clean up. Also whilst your there check the fluid level. Failing that have a diagnostics done on it and it should point to the problem.

also check reverse and brake light bulbs and all rear light earths
