Hello
I have a 2001 2.8jtd Ducato I have just serviced it and after changing the Diesel filter I have a red warning light on the dash that will not go off.It looks like a injector in red.The van drives ok has anyone got any ideas thank you.

A few years ago I had this warning lamp on, took it to two workshops for diagnosis, it was diagnosed as having faults x or y or z although the engine appeared to run just fine.

Then I had a little luck. I was checking the loose fixing of the black cover in the engine bay in the centre above the valve cover. There are a few fuses under here that I was un-aware of and one was blown, so for me it was that simple. Hope you have as much good fortune.

friend of stouby I have just checked and alas I have no fuses under my cover but thank you for your reply.

Hi mate,

There are lots of reasons why the injector light may have come on, and it MAY be nothing to do with the diesel filter change that you have just done. The injector light can b triggered by ANY of the many sensors in the engine. The BEST way to find out is to have the fault codes read at a garage, as because the light is on, there will be a fault code stored in the ECU. This will point you straight at the problem.

HOWEVER...I would make sure that you reconnected all wiring multi-plugs and hoses correctly if you removed any when changing the filter. Even ones that look plugged in, remove them and then plug them in again to check. Re-trace your steps... water in diesel sensor, diesel pre heater etc etc if fitted, check you plugged all the wiring back in correctly.

Hope that helps,
Alan

Thanks Alan
I will go over my work and recheck the plugs.Sorry to be a pain but the only Fiat dealer I can find near my home is only a car dealership and i cant get my van into the workshop. So Going to get the codes read will be my last resort.

Thank you

Hi,
maybe there is a citroen or peugeot commercial dealer you could try. Remember the ducato is the same as the citroen relay/jumper and the peugeot boxer. I've also found that citroen is cheaper than fiat for the same parts.
Keep well,
Torq
