Can you post me some hi res pics of your cars in email [email protected]? I love your car but i can't find much pics... I'll put them online if you want and give you the links so you can show your car!!!!
thank you

Re: GO TURBO...

Mate go with the £800, i dont think you will do better then that! when i was looking into do the conversion the cheapest i got was £1500!!!

Just so you know (i am sure you do) you will need lots of custom pipework!

Paul R

P.S.if this mean you might sell the NOS then can i have first refusal... you have my number 07730575753 or e-mail [email protected]

Re: GO TURBO...

Which county do you live in, i am despiritly tring to find a fiat breakers yard to get some fiat marea head lights and handles which i can paint.

my local fiat dealer quoted me 23.74 each for the handles and 147 for each light.

Re: GO TURBO...

i can get the headlights for £130 a pair. not sure if they are NEW replicas or USED OEM stuff. either way thats the best offer i've had for them. email me if you want a set. handles cost me £50 a pair delivered, so fiat are best for new ones.

re

I paid 1500 for my 16v turbo lump n all the bits!

800 sounds pretty good!

Ribzz mate can I ask what the insurance have said to you doing this i was looking into it a few weeks back, first I could not find the lump for a price near what you have, so go wit it bud and the insurance companys I called would not touch it. I really want a reason to keep my bravo and if i can do this then that would be great but its looking more and more like im going to be getting the astra coupe come the end of Jan.

rwe

when i put the 16v turbo in mine the only insurance company that woudl touch me wanted receipts from it being done, and they aranged an independant engineer to come and look it over.

but only paid 1800 at 21 with no ncb in the end!

yeah Paul I know salvage yards still quote a lot of cash for the coupe lumps and £800 is a good price you can always get cheaper else where though :)

Nitrous will be staying on although I'll have to re jig the firing mechanism so the Nitrous and controller will have to stay with me

I do have a Wizzards of not kit at home polished bottle come with every thing bar the solenoids which you can buy seperate,

if your interested in that you've got my number m8y ;)

FAO: watkinsbravo

hey m8

FAO: the allans

Yeah i can remember you buying the Coupe Al

I bought a super chrger for the 1.6 about 18 months back and it would have tanken the power up to about 175bhp but it would have bee a waste due to all the weight

And yeah its finaly 20v time, as soon as i get the car back from Jessop I'll be getting on with it :) should be fun

FAO: Danny

Danny,

I have a trade policy so, all i have to do is register the engine on the log book,

It won't effect my insurance at all

what I would say thoug is if you go some where like Adrian flus who deal with engine conversions regularly its likey they will do work out your premium based on the car the engine came from in this case a Coupe 20vT, other things will be taken in to consideration mind

hope that helps

re

a guy i know is on a trade policy!

what do you need to show/produce to get on one? as i'm lookig at getting a run around and cant get second car added to my policy?

trade policy woudl prob suit me better!

Re: re

I was wondering when this supercharger business was going to come out..

You told me about probably 12 months back you were doing this, and I could see Tom hinting all the time at it, and I couldn't say a word!

Hehe, ah well, that's that idea scrapped!

Turbo power, here you come!

Re: re

alright mate i will call you soon, sounds perfect for me!

Re: re

i was told that only adrian flux will insure a nitrous'd car???

btw, i'm compiling a list of insurance companies and their quotes for my modded bravo. My last quote is a renewal and it is due a few days after Christmas. I'll let you all see what i got offered after that. best so far is £850

Re: re

yeah possibly so Allan

if you're just running 2 cars you might find 2 policys may be even with 2 different companys would work for you bud

if not trade policy is defo a good way forward
it works out well for me as i buy/fix/sell alot of modded cars, plus i'm about to by a skyline so can drive that on the same policy, works out really well

plus all the engine converison i do etc etc

the trade policy works ace as I dont have to worry about if some one i'm doing work for on there car has insurance

I'd do it allan!

FAO: Ian

yeah i know m8 lol

i was itching to put it on but realised 180ish bhp would not be enogh for me due to all the extra weight in the car,

as i'll be doing the converison my self it will work out cheaper to put the 20vt in plus there will be alot more scope for silly big power :)
