Thats very poor salesmanship, if i was you i would have walked out. I would have got shot if that would have happened in my old shop
I always used to let the customer browse a few mins before having a word but 20 mins is ridiculous

Berghaus were popular in the mid 90's! Everyone round our way and all me mates had Berghaus fleeces and jackets!
If memory serves me right, the Berghaus Yeti Attack was actually a gaiter, made from Gore-Tex, with a rubber rand designed to fit in to the Attack soles on Scarpa boots.Hellcat said:

I just bought a pair of Capps Hiker Boots as I'm going hill walking next month. I tried on lots of boots but these were comfy. Breathable nubuck leather upper, Sofilmtex waterproof system and comfort lining. Thinsulate insulation, outsole resistant to heat, oil, acid and alkali. CE conforms to EN 3451993 regulations, etc. I paid £55. What do you reckon John?
I also bought a Berghaus fleece which zips into my Mera Peak coat. Very cool indeed.

The M4 is the newer blue nubuck style manta isnt it? Gotta say you have good taste, and i bet its taken ages to break those buggers in, they hardly flex at the sole, i couldnt bend them
There are a couple more higher spec boots than the manta though
But your into 200/300 quid for those bad boys

Well im not familiar with the company, there are lots of makers competing around the 50-80 mark from the description it seems that it has the spec you would expect from a boot in that market, waterproof, breatheable etc.
At the end of the day comfort is the main thing, and if these were the best they are gonna be comfy all the time, so you have done the right thing
When youve been on your walk give us a bit of a review, i dont mind learning about a new company
Good idea with the fleece, you are one of many who have done the same. How are you finding the mera peak? you will find that youll never need another coat...mainly cos it will last many years
The Mera Peak is a superb coat, the best I've owned. Very comfortable, I can't fault it at all. It was a bargain at the price.

Just got them out and they're Berghaus Storm - with the Attack sole. Blue Nubuck. The yeti was the gaiter which attached to the boot using the rubber straps and slots.

well i have sold berghaus storm and they are good boots, they were the next model up from the explorer, they were higher and had a better sole, im sure there has been a bergaus boot called the yeti

You wont regret it. Once you wear those babys in, you wont want anything else
If you find it a bit uncomfortable at first when you put them on, dont tie it right to the top, tie them on the next eyelet down, just releases a bit of pressure off the ankle
Id be very suprised if they didnt work or had a problem but in the unfortuneate event that they do, keep all your receipts, some places dont just replace em, they send them back to manufacturers for testing, to make sure there is a fault and it isnt even in fact human error which caused it.
Let me know how you are getting on with them
