Hi does anyone have any idea what this noise can be and where its coming from? The guy at the garage said im chasing a problem that doesn't exist, there is no way this is normal, I will next week go for a second opinion, any tips would be appreciated 😀

Turn the radio off, close the air intake, turn off the rear demister. Now start turning on bit by bit, and off as you go. Move from driver's seat to passenger and listen.

Sounds like something flapping. But what and where?

Welcome to the club and a fine night in auld reekie for a fish supper and a quiet time in the car.

Are the year and milage correct, and what's the engine/gearbox?

I note it's a Dualogic - any issues or errors with the gearbox? Might be worth opening the bonnet, looking down between the airbox and the battery for the clutch actuator arm, and see if the noise coincides with that moving? Alternatively whether the noise seems to be coming from under the silvery cover, front right of engine bay (behind radiator, where the pump for the gearbox hydraulics lives).

Hey no issues at all with gear changes etc, iv been in the engine bay but can feel hear or see anything other than a little bit of movement from the engine, iv been under to see if anything is hanging loose but everything seems secure and in place, im baffled as it doesn't to it all the time maybe every few minutes or so

The vibration you can feel throughout the cabin and it only does it now and again not constantly, thats with heating radio etc turned of and on

Note : the car wouldn't move out of neutral today and message said check transmission

Then I suspect it will be an issue with the gearbox actuator unfortunately - possibly the pump, which should run every few minutes with a more benign whirring sound. Perhaps it is on its way out. Maybe see if a member near you with Multiecuscan (see the register) - or your garage - can pull the error codes for you?
Error code is reading the throttle and brake pressed at smae time changed both car goes now into gear but the noise is still vibrating at intervals not all the time. Im worried that it could be on its way out but there is no error codes for this coming up. Driving me insane
