I Love S4's sat in one and want one :D

My dad drove one of the rear engined 5's he said they're

"quite nippy"

I would like to add a 5 Turbo2 to my collection one day, I just love the look of them. I suppose the Clio V6 is a modern day version in essence, but has no pedigree like the 5.

Can't say an S4 is a pretty car (for want of a better word) but alarming to the eye in a way that can't be explained! :D

It's not always legislation and funnily enough, we are governed by the British Parliment, not the EU as much as the Sun would like you to think that.

It's about safety features mainly, as design progresses we're adding 8+ airbags, ERS, ABS, NRD (yeah I made that one up) all of which weigh! Right now the desire from people is feature rich cars, electric windows, aircon, sunroofs, ICE, high quality trim and heated seats, again, weight.

We may have our own government, but if any car company wants to sell cars outside these shores, they have to comply, & well how many British owned car companies are there now, not many.

Car design will change drastically over the next few years as more rules come in one of which is there must be at least 8inches or something from bonnet to engine so when we go out & knock people down they don't hurt their head off the hard engine. And do you know why roofs are getting higher in cars, it's not all about giving more head room, its because the US of A is the biggest car market in the world, where it's against the American Constitution of Civil Liberties to wear a seat belt, but if you crash your car wearing no seat belt and god forbid hit your head off something, you can sue the car company for negligence!!!!!

Therefore more and more air-bags, high roof lines etc etc have to built in if the car maker wants to sell there (n)

But will a Clio V6 be classed as having pedigree in ten years.

It depends I suppose on how much coverage there is of the V6 Cup, which I've never even seen on TV, & next to nothing in magazines. :(

& really you only gain kudos when competing against other manufacturers, rather than a one make cup.

But whats a dream today, is reality tomorrow. :D

Due to car makers wanting their vehicles to be safer then the cars are made heavier and chunkier.

Take a look at an A pillar from an 80's car and a similar car's A pillar from today and you'll see the newer car's pillar is much thicker.

Yeah, JC has said cars are getting slower and he tests this theory in his latest feature "Hot Metal" but people simply can't afford huge power cars these days like they used to sell back in the good old 80's.

Remember that there is not just one Evo 8.
They range from the 260 through to the 340. Mitsubishi are deep in the brown and smelly so have cut prices to try and sell more. Bit of bugger when I am trying to sell my Warrior and the new ones are £2000 cheaper than I paid for mine.

Cheers

1) have you got the L200 or the shogun?

2)Have you got the black one or the silver?

My dad has got the L200 Animal, but he would of loved to get the warrior instead (Black of course.....wananbe gangster :p )

Shame about the price drops for current owners

get urself a new limited edition Evo8 FQ400... only something like £45k...

That's a lot of money, but when you put in into context...

£45,000 for a car that will skin an Zonda to 100mph and probably through the twistys as well - Yes please!!

I've driven an 8, and it certainly swung my vote away from the Impreza (except possibly a P1 - Mmmmmmmm!)

I had one of the original Animals back in 2000, the Warrior is an L200 in silver with black leather, sports twin headlights, SUV top and the 130 BHP upgrade.

I've got an import two door outside at the moment. It looks just like the P1 with the exception of gold wheels rather than the P1 anthracite ones. This baby has 340 bhp and dump valve, pssscccchhhtttt, yeah.

cheers
