V+ HD or Freeview HD recorder?

heres one i have been toying with for a couple of months.

Since digital switch over, and me getting 10 ton of dust into my DVD recorder, i have no way of recording TV.

Im torn as to get V+ HD or get freeview HD.

We dont actually watch that much TV and have just freeview at the moment, which is why i think that paying out for Virgin (an extra £25 on my existing virgin bill) isnt required. I mean, i look at the listings on Sky 1 and i dont want to actually anything on there. the other channels, same again. The onlything i would watch are car programs, im not into sport and the movie channels sucked when ni lived at my parents (they had sky)

It sems that Virgin at £25 p/m isn't that bad a deal compared to that samsung unit.

Get a sony internet tv
We have Virgin just because we couldn't get freeview through our ariel. Have you considered freesat?

Freesat HD seems cheaper in the long run. I'm holding out for a freeview HD USB stick for my Media Centre. Windows 7 supports 4 tuners (as long as your PC has the stones to handle it).

im still stuck on this. im more inclined to go the freeview route as im going to be paying out for a service im not going to watch.

this is my position. My current VHS machine (despite not being able to record for 7 years) is getting a bit maintainence heavy (and now wont eject at any point in a tape unless at the start), my DVD recorder is analogue and is next to useless now, and coasters more disks than you can shake a stick at, so is knackered and like the VHS needs replacing.

so i was thinking of buying the panasonic VHS/DVD RECORDER/HDD Freeview+ which is this machine- here but its not a true HD machine or HD freeview.

I also need something to record TV as im missing stuff left right and centre

HD freeview doesnt seem to be available on this sort of machine and im torn between getting the machine above, or getting a machine like the panasonic freeview HD DVD recorders or getting a cheaper VHS/DVD unit and a Freeview HD HDD recorder.

any recommendations?
