I know this is a long shot but here goes....
I do a fair amount of video editing in my spare time and I my internal hard drive on my Mac is filling up quickly. It doesn't have any free hard drive bays and I want to keep the drives I have in there as they are.
I am planning on getting an external firewire 800 scratch disk but am unsure if the performance of firewire 800 will be enough for a scratch disk?
Also this means I can edit on my Macbook on the move (since I'll be able to plug the drive into my Macbook and get all my footage)
Anyone video edit or know enough about firewire to help?
