Hello All.

A bit of a long shot- is there anyone in the Notts/Derbs borders or even S Yorks/ North Lincs areas who has FIAT multiECU and the knowledge to use it and can PLEASE help with resetting my oil service and oil degeneration settings?

I'm on a flying visit from France to the Chesterfield/Mansfield area .On my way here on Monday the oil warning light began to flash on my Qubo MyLife 1.3 MJet 2012 75bhp with 37k miles, and the dashboard warning "change engine oil" came up.

I was told of a "good" local garage. They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing!-- I asked them if they could reset the service etc if they did the job, they assured me they could.

So,yesterday they did the oil&filter change. You guessed it- came the end, they put a SOLUS machine onto the OBD port, but cannot reset the ECU with that machine- they cannot clear the oil warning never mind check/ clear the oil degradation settings...they have washed their hands of the job now, leaving me stuck with new oil but a dash still telling me to change it.

I absolutely HAVE to travel the 700 miles back to France on Sunday, it's all booked and I must get back. I cannot get into any main dealers at short notice.A web search finds a "specialist" called ItaliaTec at Sutton in Ashfield but their phone goes to answer machine and they are not calling me back

I have a short trip to Grimsby to visit family booked for Friday so I can go anywhere in the area Notts/Derbs to NE Lincs via S Yorks for any assistance

I'm naturally concerned re the regeneration system kicking in when I'm bashing along the motorways at speed (OK,it's a Qubo but still going pretty quick) and doing damage to my oil or even worse engine

Naturally I am happy to pay for assistance from anyone with the multiECU and knowledge to reset my ECU

My gratitude in advance for any help......

Hi,
I can do it for you if you are going near Cambridge / Huntingdon, A14 / M11 area.
To be honest steady motorway driving is the least damaging you can do.
The issue is the DPF won't regenerate so will block up. A forced re-gen may fix this when you get home. If you are still near the garage who did the work you should ask them to sort it out, probably by getting a Fiat dealer, specialist or possibly auto electrician to do the reset. You asked, they said they could so they are in breach of contract.

I'm too far to help but think you will be fine in any event. The average distance between regens on mine is 2500 miles. There is lots of latitude for you to get home it won't try and regen if it thinks the oil is bad, and mechanically you know the oil is good. The drive home will offer marginal passive regen anyway, not like you will be doing shirt city driving. Just get it reset as you are arranging or get home safe and sort it from there.
