I recently purchased a '98 Bravo 1.6 SX and after seeing a post on here about thermostats i decided this was the reason for my low temperature/low fuel economy so i set about replacing it. All was going well until i reconnected the battery and the alarm went mental! so i disconnected the battery and the alarm has its own backup battery argh! :bang:

I hadn't really thought much about the alarm as i don't have a fob or anything, although i've just found the Code Card. Does anyone know how i can sort this out? I don't know what to do!

The alarm is a Meta System and it has the letters SC1 T2 written on it, i've got the code card but no key fob, how do i turn it off???

Thanks in advance,

nope i haven't got anything other than the Fiat key and the code card.

before i disconnected the battery i hadn't heard anything from the alarm at all.

Just had a quick look to see if i can find the control unit as it seems from lookng around the internet that the SC1 is only the siren. However i can't find the control unit! i've looked in the panel behind the glove box, the panel down by the drivers side door, the boot, and under the bonnet where would they put it?!

Haha thanks Xen, i'm just a bit worried that if i take it out then the car could be immobilised, although i can still start the car with the alarm going off

yeh you have to be careful if it does have an immobiliser (which it doesnt by the sound of it, or its not connected) if it does, you need to find the control unit for the alarm and brigde across the immobiliser wires.

Just been looking at the alarm system and managed to find the control box cleverly hidden in the compartment by the drivers side door

I've found out its a meta system M99T2 alarm system, i've looked on their website but can't find anything about how to disarm it. I've managed to remove the siren though which is a big plus as now i can tinker without that manic beeping! :)

Quick update: i've just taken out the control unit and so far it doesn't seem to have any negative effect so fingers crossed i can just leave it out and be done without, however if anyone knows a proper fix let me know! ;)
