Technical Uno turbo sump gasket

Hi all,could anyone enlighten me regarding whether the uno turbo mk 1 requires a gasket fitted to the sump,or just the silicon compound applying? OR both? I have seen different opinions on this, any ideas?

Yes, it does have a sump gasket - of the nice, thick and soft type (sounds like toilet paper doesn't it...)

I don't think you should eliminate the gasket because the clearance between the sump and the oil pump pickup is important. At the very least, even if oil can flow in well with no clearance, if you hit the sump on something it's more likely to break off the pickup.

The gasket should be cheap to buy and will be the same for the Uno 70 models, X1/9, etc.
