Popped into a local tyre/MOT centre today for an oil and filter change, and they mentioned the tyre wear I have on the front wheels. I had noticed it earlier, with it wearing on the inside edge and intended to get the tracking checked.
However, the garage said the tracking was probably fine, and the cause would be the lowered suspension. I'm not sure how far it was lowered, but noticed red springs when I bought it in Feb. It's not radically lowered. They said the geometry change would be the cause, and the only solution would be to revert to standard springs.
The rear tyres look okay, although one side has very slight inside edge wear.
I like the car as it is, but are they telling porkies, or does lowering a car create uneven tyre wear? Has anyone else lowered their car and had this problem?
