So far on my Bravo's I have always had 185/55 R15 Tyres the manual also lists 195/50 R15 Tyres as an option so I was thinking of trying these when I get my Alloys refurbished.

But before spending big money on tyres I would like to see peoples pictures of 195/50 R15 fitted to standard 15" 6J alloys. The calculated difference is very small but I would still like to see some photos first. And feel free to suggest tyre Brands and models you have had before.

Heres the calculated differences between both sizes.

185/55 R15
Sidewall: 101.80mm
Radius: 292.20mm
Diameter: 584.50mm
Circumference: 1836.30mm
Rev's/Mile:876

195/50 R15
Sidewall: 97.50mm
Radius: 288.00mm
Diameter:576.00mm
Circumference:1809.60mm
Rev's/Mile:889
- Previous 60mph would now show as 59.1mph

And here is pictures of 185/55 R15 on 6J wheels (I have missed my old 500 wheels and Continental tyres )

These are Nexen that came with my car - Not bad but stones get stuck in that fine tapered tread a lot and you hear the stone going around hitting the floor. It was worse when they where new.

Well I don't have any photos or first hand experience, but I wouldn't worry at all about fitting that size of tyre. Apart from a bit more rolling resistance thay should be completely comparable and would even protect the rims of your refurbished alloys a bit more. The optimum tyre size for these cars I reckon.

I have the same Nexen N2000s on my Brava and I'm very happy with them, you could get them in a 195/50 but it seems that the N2000 is being replaced by the CP641 which I don't fancy much. You can get good deals on tyres in that size in general, and if you get F1 alloys in Chester to refurb your wheels (recommended) they will fit and balance your tyres for free so you could get a good online deal for new tyres if you choose a brand and model.
