Hi, thought I'd give the forum a try after having conflicting advice from various towbar fitters over the last couple of weeks. I'm the proud owner (y)of a Ulysse 2.2JTD Eleganza, after previously owning an "N" plate Ulysse 1.9JTD (which sadly died 18 months ago (n)). I'm looking at having a towbar fitted and need help. The vehicle has rear parking sensors. Does it have to be a detachable bar fitted or would a swan neck towbar be OK? some fitters are telling me one thing and others give me different answer. Thanks bigman1519

Our delaer fitted the Fiat towbar which was a swan neck one but we had them remove it and a traditional witter tow bar fitted (as we'd original specified)
I prefer a fixed towbar as it offers some rear end smash protection. And allows bike racks etc to be bolted to it.
Our's doesn't cancel the rear sensors but it's no big deal I don't often reverse when towing and when I do I just ignore the sensors beeping.
