Hello

I got on a whim and free, an 170AF - 899cc Cinquecento and up to now it has been a blast working on it.

Just did the basics oil/plugs/filters etc., after having the clutch replaced by a shop, and currently I face a wall regarding information

I cannot figure where the purple/white cable goes
And if only one linkage on the gearbox has a secure clip.

Attached you will find pictures indicating the "problem", as it doesn't seem to cause any issue (yet)

Other than that , car goes vroom albeit might need to get the shop to adjust the clutch cable - hearing some noise when in neutral and not pressing the pedal (i.e. clutch is engaged)

I see that you haven't got a response yet. I also have this wire in my 899. Actually there are two wires with the same connector. One goes to the alternator and is the battery light/exciter wire. The other one seems to be ignition on 12V positive and I don't know its use. Maybe it has something to do with the a/c in cars that were equipped with it. As for the noise from the clutch (that I also have in my car) a Google search suggests to be a bearing related noise
 
The case of the unknown wire. If it gets current, without the engine running, it shines the battery and oil pressure light and that current powers the driving lights, the turning signals and the rear wiper. If the engine is running, the battery and oil pressure light stay off. I have seen images of carburated 900cc cinquecento engines and they have a similar connector going to the throttle body (maybe for a choke on light?)
 
If gearbox bearing noise when in neutral and disappears when you press the clutch pedal down completely (not just rest your foot on pedal which can be the clutch release bearing) then most likely the first motion shaft or lay gear bearings in gearbox, not unusual with an older car , however it depends on if it starts to get worse, so I advise you watch/monitor it.
First check gearbox has the right amount of the correct oil in it!
