UK - New 80MPH speed limit

Ah yeah coz we're always bombing down motorways when It's snowing at 80 aren't we. What a pointless thing to say! Cornering... yeah coz there's a great deal of difficult cornering on a motorway isn't there! Shocking comment. If you drove to the conditions and limits you would know that the limits could be significantly higher on a motorway.

You have never seen people cruising along in the middle lane? Seriously? You only have to be on a motorway for 5minutes and I would bet my car on it that I see one.

and that will be your right! Nobody is going to force all traffic to do over 70, and those wanting to do 80 will need to realise they can't just do 80 and expect everyone else to get out their way. They will need to drive according to the conditions.

Exactly. If someone like our friend on here tries to come and intimidate me out of the way he usually encounters a rolling roadblock of cars doing the same speed :D

Unknown... who cares. It will matter to some, others it won't matter to. Some people don't care about fuel costs. Point is 80 is safe!

When you said 20 under the limit you didn't mention the motorway...! I wasn't just talking about the motorway either, you seem to thing if limit's 60 then everyone should drive at 60 no matter what.

Do you ever break or change gear on corners by any chance?

Yes I do, every day but that's a lot safer compared with following too closely.

I wouldn't intimidate anybody, but if you're travelling at that speed and in the wrong lane then you're the hazard not me. If you're in the correct lane then I'm either going to pass you without any problems or if there's no way to pass due to how busy the motorway is then that's the way it is. Take every situation as they come.

Whats a shocking comment? Bit confused!

And nope, not that I can remember.

Not really. All drivers should be looking ahead and making adjustments to their speed based on what is happening in front.

The middle lane question was directed at use person that claims they've never seen it, not you.

I think on most occasions You should keep somewhere near the limit it conditions allow, on a motorway that is pretty much always do able. Some areas round by have got sixty limits and I think its absolutely absurd. Way too dangerous.

If I saw someone cruising in the wrong lane the last place I'd be is looking ahead actually, my eyes would be on them and my peripheral vision would see up cheap Reason being... if that person is to stupid to drive in the correct lane they're a hazard, one that I've spotted and one I'm not comfortable with and who knows what they might do next if they don't even know what lane to be in, they might just fancy pulling in front of me!

Public forum mate, I voiced my opinion..

High winds in the countryside with heavy rain?

Why would 60 limits be dangerous? Next you'll be saying the 30 limits outside schools are a killer!

If you truly haven't seen that then you've missed the hazard. There is no chance in the world that has not been happening when you've been on a motorway. You either never go on them or aren't award the hazard exists.

I meant the 60 is too high for the roads, they're snaking and narrow. Should not be sixty. I wouldn't drive them at sixty. But that's a country mile away from a motorway. Lewis Hamilton's brother could safely drive on a motorway ffs. It's a straightline for the most part. Hence why I find it boring.

You mean like you aren't aware of the hazard of cars driving to closely?

Ready to plow into the slow moving traffic ahead of you that you didn't see..?

Dom

Why do you make up these scenarios... if it was slow moving traffic I'd know about it and take it in to account. I'd still see the car anyway with my peripheral vision. You were making up impossible scenarios earlier, chucking what about driving on snow and the likes in to the mix. At the end of the day we are talking about motorways

You'll find that most rural roads are national by default anyway, same all over the country.
