UK - New 80MPH speed limit

It's not Chris but I make sure not to do it when its busy and I make sure I got the hard shoulder just in care said ****** decides they want to move back in to the left hand lane. I have a massive problem with crap drivers getting away with murder whilst speeding is frowned upon so much! They look out for speeding cars all the time, along the way the come across endless amounts of incompetent drivers who are a danger! they get nothing. Just like they send out speeding fines in the post why can't they send out warnings saying, Erm excuse me why were you cruising in the middle lane of the motorway? Soon sort them out.

Funny story, I once overtook a patrol car that was cruising down the middle lane at around seventy and pointed to the left hand lane. Needless to say he was a little embarrassed.

We need to alert the proper channels I feel. The Fiat Forum could be in for some real recognition here. It seems we have in our mists a real ace driver & potential racing legend in the making.....:D

You heard it here first.....:slayer:

There is no such thing as an Ace Driver

There are the Good The bad the ugly and the darn right Stupid

like the old grandad who does 35 in a 60 (the bad)
The ugly - Who just cut you up
The Darn Right Stupid - The person who's cut you and every1 else up and overtook badly and then just wrapped his car around a post = you laughing you socks off!!

The good - the ones you never hear about having a problem, the person who's alert and happy driving, who dont panic in a situation, that person who's never been named
Some say he's made of pure white energy
And cause im crap at jokes, we only know him as

What I have tried to pass on to Young Codger is that being a good driver means taking great pride in your driving, but not thinking of yourself as a superior driver. Think of it as a professional skill. It's a hard concept to get over to some people. To be a good driver is to drive at a good pace but a safe pace and certainly not to look on other drivers as idiots, just hazards to be aware of and take appropriate action to make sure that you and your passengers arrive in one piece, and not in an ambulance (or worse)!

Whether they change it or not ill still be cruising at around that figure. There's nothing wrong with it and it keeps me awake. Seventy is dangerous for me as I get bored and fall asleep. Nearer ninety and I'm alert.

Nothing wrong with it? When the law states that the limit is 70mph...if you struggle to stay awake at 70, you shouldn't be on the road.

It's a mystery why they don't take learner drivers on the motorway! the fastest place you can drive and you don't get taught it, but as soon as you pass com go straight out on to a motorway?! Motorway driving is easy anyway I would say but still, its stupid.

Personally I wouldn't want a learner that hasn't quite perfected lane disipline doing 70 along side of me.... Would you?

What happens when your doing 20mph?

He falls asleep of course.

I don't see it as ignorant at all. Anyway I'm off, this is nearly as boring as driving along at 68mph on a long wide road with flawless surface! See you on the M roads. I'll be the one undertaking pricks cruising in the middle land just to make a point to them :)

So you think that doing 80 on the Motorways and undertaking is perfectly okay.

Erm yeah that could work!

How long have you had your license for? I'm guessing not very long.

What but its ok for them to do it next to you on a dual carriageway is it?

Less lanes, less places to go to avoid a crash. Also less going on as there's only cars one side of you whereas on a motorway they can potentially cut you up from both sides. Just from experience I always seem to see more 'near' accidents on **** carriageways than motorways.

Less going on... More dangerous..?

So you don't see morons braking on the motorway because they're all speeding in the outside lane with about an inchs gap between them? - These are the idiots we need off the roads..

I'm confused, you've said dual carriageways are worse than motorways, but then just mentioned that. Surely that makes motorways more dangerous from that?
