I have a Uconnect 5 inch Radio Nav that was installed in the Auto Trail motorhome I bought in the UK. Device # TP5xxxxx6xx / 4902. I believe the TP model is for Europe but now that I live in New Zealand and I want to install the NZ map. There a way to load nz map

Can anyone assist me in making this possible?

Historically, there have been issues with the availability of Australian and New Zealand maps for at least the older models of the built-in nav systems in the Ducato, complained about by a number of Australian motorhomers, so I'm not entirely convinced of the following, BUT the situation might well have changed recently:

The generic TomTom shop shows the availability of NZ mapping, and entering "TP" on this page to check if it is compatible with the TP series indicates it is.

https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/sat-nav/maps-services/shop/travel-map/new-zealand/

Given that, I think I would at least attempt the purchase/update process set out here:

https://help.tomtom.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360013901640

(Though the route to this info was via a "Map Update" link, TomTom Home has a "Purchase Maps" option, and whilst this will allow you to buy a newer version of the existing (UK/EU) map, if it is supported it should also allow you to buy/install the NZ map. (On a different manufacturers built-in TomTom device, I have gone through the process of buying/installing an additional map)).

Not that simple I think (unless the ducatto version of uconnect can be updated directly by TomTom

I know other cars need updating through fiat despite using TomTom maps

The update instructions on the TomTom site coincide with the Map Update instructions in a random download of the Fiat UConnect 5 supplementary manual.

They are also (see the second link) defined by TomTom to be the correct instructions for the Ducato with the Uconnect 5.

The only question I have is that the Fiat Manual only covers the update of an existing map, though it does highlight the fact that (if you haven't already bought update rights) the "Purchase Map" option is the one to try.

So the outstanding question is whether, if NZ is not already installed, TomTom will allow you to purchase that additional map. The TomTom (second) link states that it should.

My experience with another manufacturer's inbuilt Nav is that the process works, and will install an additional map (and allow you if necessary to remove the UK/EU maps as a space-saving exercise).

Given the above, it is worth a try.

(And, as I say, I am aware of people historically complaining that Australia/NZ maps weren't available, but I believe that issue has been overcome).

If all else fails and you can lay your hands on a Garmin unit, this supplier has a range of maps that can be loaded to a Garmin unit. I use his free U.K. maps

shop.talkytoaster.me.uk/maps/oceania

Being a newbie on the forum, I cannot past links, try searching The above.
