General  Tyre pressures

I put 33 all round in my jtd.

Got 4 part worn michelin energy savers with 7mm on them the other day for £140 fitted :p just thought id add that well chuffed.

As I recollect the handbook advises 2.2bar/34psi.
IMO 23 psi is far too low. Experiment with pressures between 32 & 34 all round to see which suits your tyres & you best.

Different types of wheels and tyres require different pressures.

I have a full set of 225/45/17 Dunlop F1 Eagles(GSD3) fitted to Blades on our Multiwagon, 38psi front and back gives great results.

I might trying upping mine then. Is it handling, or MPG that noticed the difference Shadey?

Both.

Just telling someone to put *this* amount of air in your tyres because you drive *this* vehicle is wrong. Tyre/wheel size, load and driving style dictate the pressure required. An experienced tyre fitter will give you a much better idea of the pressures needed. I took my car back twice to have a free tyre pressure check once I'd had the tyres fitted. They can tell if more or less pressure is required by looking at the tyre once it has a few miles on it. Experience is everything and makes a big difference to handling and MPG.

My advice is get your tyres checked regulary by a professional and let him/her tell you the pressures your tyres require.

The Kwik Fit site obviously only deals in 'generic' models. Just keyed in my Schumi and got the wrong pressures (the 18" tyres have a recommended pressure 4psi higher at the front than the generic Abarth figure).
