After having a twin layer boot in a previous car I decided to fit a very simple one to my Panda Lounge.I have a spare wheel fitted so used the space around the surrounding area to place items which I find essential (air pump, first aid kit, spare lightweight waterproofs etc.) to form an even layer. I then cut an old piece of twin wall polycarbonate sheet to fit the boot area (anything reasonably rigid will do) and replaced the boot liner on top of it.
This provides me with totally clear boot area and I only loose about 3"-7.5cm and the polysheeting provides a nice firm base to the boot under the carpet.
Recently I have carried several concrete paving slabs plus 3 bags of sand in the boot without any problem.
This modification does not hinder my access to spare wheel etc .in any way.
