Tweeter crackling not tweeting

My nearside tweeter has developed an really annoying crackle which occurs intermittently every few seconds. It's the original one - how can i get the cover off to check the wires aren't loose or earthing (Mk1 HGT).

Small flat head screwdriver will prise the cover out.
