Technical Turbo unit

Thanks to the peeps who replied to my posting. Regarding the turbo unit on my Punto TD SX 1.7, if the wastegate IS the source of overcharging pressure on the engine and the cause of the turbo light coming on at 80mph, can I get it replaced or does the whole turbo unit need to be replaced? If so, what kind of cost am I looking at? Any info is welcome.

The waste gate should be a seperate unit to the turbo therefore should be replaceable without replaceing the turbo too. if your technically minded get onto a local breakers and try to source one and fit it your self . If not try a local garage. but avoid dealers = scum [V]
