Technical Turbo leak?

Hi all, ive just gone to drive my fiat punto sporting 1.9 and as soon as it hits turbo there is a loud hiss like air is being pushed out. It will not boost but at idle the turbo spins fine, its just under load it does this. There is no black smoke or blue smoke at all, it this just a simple turbo leak or worse? thanks all

I'm sure it is a split hose. Think fiat want loads of money for a new one so people have taken to ordering one from eBay. A search will be your friend.

How much do you think is loads? Because I was going to take it to fiat tomorrow morning as I work 25 miles away and need my car Thursday :/ cheers

If its the bottom intercooler pipe then Fiat want approx £100-£140 for a pipe set that will cost you approx £20 off ebay for a better/more durable one.

Fiat wont sell the pipe separate any more.

Best bet is to find the leak first, get underneath the car and see if you can see any pipes hanging off.

Dont bother buying it from Fiat.

Ebay, approx £425 with £100 for old unit so comes in at £325. 1 year /unlimited mileage warranty.

update, ive just got back from fiat and it isnt the turbo.. its the intercooler :/ supposedly its blown and they want 600 pound to fix it.

upgraded intercooler from forge is about 350 - or if the m-jet and t-jet intercoolers are the same i have a spare standard one sitting in my garage

They are.

But as said uprated one will set you back £400 max.

Another update, I was intending on changing my intercooler myself so I took her in the garage and started stripping it off so could just wack the new one on when it came, on inspection I was just about to take the intercooler off after getting the bumper off and noticed the hose on the drivers side had a mahoosive hole in it and a smaller hole, and fiat said I needed a new intercooler, somehow I dont think it's the intercooler haha anyway does anyone know where you can get a silicone hose or rubber hose from? Cheers

Just take them off measure and order correct ones off ebay. Will cost you less than £40 i bet.

Are there any actual shops? i want to get one in the morning and get it fitted as ive got work at 1 and dont fancy taking my r6 in the rain

all you can do is try local motorfactors mate. i found some hosing from one near me. But that was after visiting about 3 before
