bloody hell im reallly not keen on not having a thermostat. cant you see if someone makes an sorta high flowing in line thermostat?
i have a low temp one in mine... its perfect (now) temps dont budge.

me too , i recon you can even go lower, just dive into halfords and find another thermostat that have a lower opening temp

I feel much more comfortable driving the car with a bit more rev now!

i had one of them ultra low temp thermo stats that the greek guy was selling a while back on here, sold it because i kept blowing head gaskets with it on, remember i was running 1 bar before

they are all just 82 degree like the one that tells you how to make it in the guide.

does your engine actually ever get to temp? mine takes a hell of a lot of warming up with low temp stat and all the additional cooling i'm also running 0.8 bar nomally and up to 1.3 bar occasionally when it is warm

But there again when i looked at the data logs the other day in my every day driving i actually peaked at only 0.72bar as full throttle for me just means wheel spin

But one thing of course to mention is the registered boost pressure is actually not an indication of power is is only a measure of resistance in the inlet manifold

when i first put my engine in i forgot to remove the opened up thermostat that was originally fitted . only noticed when the warm up enrichment light on the ecu was on for ages. and kept turning on and off

pah been pissing around past 2 days down the unit the engine in the yellow one was completely ****ed, i put the newly skimmed head on but was missing like a bastard and popping like the timing was out, cylinder 4 on the block was so badly corroded inside the block its got basically 2mm till its into the piston bore so i scrapped that engine and used my other one i had laying around which has done under 10k so like brand new.

got a oil pump for my 1.2 engine many thanks to Zak (slosei) for bringing it up for me.

thought instead of getting the yellow sei running by usign the standard engine now im just doing the swap between my 2 cars straight away just to recoupe money spent on the new sei by getting my old one done and sold.

spent most of day building the engine up and its now ready to be fitted into my old sei.

few pics of the rolling shell of the yellow one, still waiting for my drop kit and powerflex so i can get the cars suspension done + brakes.

he rebuilt the bottom end.

1242cc p75 block with 16v pistons, new rings, new bearings, new seals ect....

my mate who works at an engineering shop is building my head up

theres 2 different engines in them pics, the turbo one is the one with the red head on which is on the engine stand.

the 1108cc standard engine on the hoist is just bog standard which will be going into my old sei (modified one) to be sold

right little update as still witing on lots of bits to come through post/my mate to finish the head work.

got the engine into my old sei just standar apart from chipped with a chip2race chip and piperX filter. starts up remotely again took it out for a spin but forgot to tighten one side of the alloys up and wheel fell off cracked bumper a bit but it needs to be redone anyway when it comes to prepping for paint.

ripped the dash out of my new sei in order to put into my old red one, my clifford 600 arrived so spent a day wiring that into the car, windows now roll up, tilt, motion and impact sensors all built in

powerflex bushes and spax 60mm springs turned up today so thought id get busy sorting things out.

im removing the uno turbo disc brakes from off my old sei and putting them onto my new sei so can only do one corner at a time, few pics of bits and bobs of things ive done

prepping some front arms ready for powerflex bushes to be fitted, i got out the oxy torch and just burnt them till the rubber fell off and then used mole grips to pull the collar off, well it just fell off lol, used the die grinder with wire wheel to clean them up and sprayed them black and they look like new.

also i wanted the apex short shocks off my old sei to put new 60mm spax springs on so took them off got new powerflex bump stops and new rubber covers for the struts, done one complete strut so far but need to get some stainless brake hoses made tomorrow in order to transplant the uno caliper's over

done bit more tonight, completely removed the hubs to swap brakes over again, my old sei is having standard brakes put back on and the uno calipers are going onto my yellow one as they fit under 13" alloys

spent most of day swapping them over, just got one more side to finish on the red sei then got to repaint the uno calipers and underseal bottom of yellow sei and refit everything

so you have UT brakes at front ? Care to measure the thickness of spacers?
