Hi,

You may or may not know my buddy runs Fiat sales in my local dealership.
He's just ordered a Trekking to my spec for stock.
I don't have to have it as he wanted to get some stock anyway. I'll
see what I think when it comes depending on what deals Fiat are doing by then.

This is what we went for.

Trekking TA,
solid white,
split fold 3 rear seats,
3 rear seat belts,
drivers seat height adjuster,
winter pack (heated seats and windscreen, bargain at £250 imho)
leather steering wheel and gear knob,
Blue and Me predisposition.
interior sand/charcoal cloth with grey dashboard.

Be here for March most prob.

The trekking configurator is now working too although there are still some
things wrong with it like winter pack only showing heated screen and not seats (y)

I emailed our local FIAT delaer 3 weeks ago saying "Tell me when you can get an Orange 4x4".

No reply.

Seriously - that winter pack is unbelievable value for FIAT. Not fussed about much else apart from a leather wheel.

Where's your dealer? Mines ace and not just because of the friend.
I'm sure he said they'd ordered six 4x4's for stock. Don't know if any are orange though?

I am testing a green 4x4 TA at Bishops of Guildford on Sunday afternoon. Seems they now have their demo cars ready for use, finally. Looking forward to the comparison with my car and I bet I like it....

It's good to hear someone else ordering. I have ordered a 4x4 but thought there'd be a few more people on here also ordering one.

If anyone finds an Orange 4x4 or Trekking I'd love to see it as that's what I have ordered.

I will be placing an order soon (before end of March to qualify for FIAT's financing deal), however firstly I'd really like to see a brochure and have a proper conversation with a dealer about the various options. My local dealer does not seem prepared for this yet, which is fine - I don't think its down to them - I guess FIAT are not in any real hurry to supply the UK just yet.

I've never been comfortable with ordering cars and waiting. I lack the patience.

I've also had good luck - in 2008 they had a yellow 500 Sport in the showroom and I bought it there and then. Three years later they had the last of the 11 reg'd Panda 100hps with the roof and Pandemonium bits - traded the 500 in there and then.

So.........if there's an Orange 4x4 Twin with winter pack locally I'll try and maybe buy - have to see it and drive it at that time. Not before.

I still like the Mk3 though..............surely that 2010 1.2 petrol Tropicalia yellow model is up for sale somewhere now!

If my circumstances work out I'll almost certainly order a Trekking before the finance deal runs out. Colour,

Why not 4x4? Too expensive to buy and run for the small benefit gained.
Why a Trekking and not an ordinary Panda? I want the ground clearance and the comfortable ride, and the easy access and view out. The trick front axle is a bonus.

I've driven for forty-five years in all weathers and never got stuck - always front wheel drive cars by the way. Yes, if I lived up a Cairngorm or an Alp, or on a steep hillside, it would be different. But I don't ;)

i am really interested in the Trekking the more i read about it, with the finance deal it looks a very wise buy, especially considering the residuals of Panda Cross and 4x4

need to test drive one but am prepared to be impressed

what rear seat would you choose - lots of options!

colour - Orange! :D

Rear seat?

Well, it can never be a real five seater so that's out, and I'd not want all those useless seat belts flapping about; but I'd like the split option. If I could get what I wanted and it wasn't split fold it might not be a deal breaker, since I only have myself to think about and I could manage by tipping the whole rear backrest. But I prefer the split option for the occasional versatility and the possibility of carrying long loads - with the folding passenger front seatback - and still keeping a place for a short legged :D person behind me.

I choose split fold 3 rear seat as I have 3 kids. It's fine for small people.
I agree, you'll never comfortably get 3 adults in the back.

The other 3 rear seat option is fix and fold, which I presume is just a single back rest, so the 60/40 split really would be more versatile.

The sliding seat looks handy, but only available with 2 rear seats.

I was about to order a Panda TA then saw the Trekking. Hope I can get a similar discount..

good move deeyup :) you'd have regretted it later if you hadn't ;)

do remind us of the colour and spec?

Only 6 weeks is very quick - I'd love to watch some footage from the factory floor and see how sheet steel gets stamped and welded into into Panda shaped boxes. Given the 4x4 drive train is so different, I wonder if that means the production line divides, or they can just programme the same machines to handle the extra gubbins?
