Nitro_warrior: I thought that will be cheaper because it´s so small. But yes you´re right. Panda´s or Niva´s are cheap so it sounds terrible price like 700€ but it´s true that it is same as diff. lock on Jeep. I have time to thiink about it and fabricate it on my own or maybe one day I will buy this original packet:).

I was thinking about these brakes too. It sounds very simple and it can be as good as diff. lock:). If I will be succesfull in one way -diff. lock or brakes- I will write it there. But when it will be:(?

Ha ha thanks for the praise!

A difflock would be better than fiddle brakes, as brakes are really only come into their own when you are already stuck, with the wheels cross axled. That said by the time your stuck with a difflock you'll be really stuck!

There was one occasion I could of really used fiddle brakes, I was stuck cross axled and I was using the foot brake to add resistance to the free wheel but when I jolted free and the spinning wheel made contact to the ground I shattered my differential.

A fiddle brake would have avoided that :rolleyes:
 
That is really bad with your differential:(. So I will start to thinking about diff. lock. With diff. lock are both hands free and both wheels are spinning.

On what car happened to you something so terrible?
 
One time if I haven´t been impatient I wouldn´t have wet carpets, flat tyre, teared off rear bumper and broken rope and chain too...etc:D. There was some lesson for me:D. And your lesson was for me too. And that´s good to know how can be these brakes usefull.
 
Hello :). Again me:). I want to ask you guys something again. Have somebody some detail photos of rear diff. and axel from inside?

I start to planing diff. lock and befour I dismount all axel and find out that it´s total stupidity I want too see that it´s bit posible:).

:eek::eek::eek:Wow! It looks great. And color of this Panda is almost like main:D. If i won´t be able to make dif. lock I will realy make this becaude it really looks great(y). I´m bit obstinate so I will try the harder way-dif. lock. I don´t know why but I´m enthusiastic in the diff. lock:D

Well Martin, I found this onto Italian 4x4 Panda Classic forum, into section diff block. I think this Panda have normal handbrake, but this two small commands (I think they comme from -two engine powered boats, as a acceleration wire commands). Each small side bar is connected (by wire) to left or to right rear hand brake command bar (for each wheel separately). This two extra commands have to be pulled forward for a little (to driver seat direction), only one by one (depends which side rear wheel have to be stopped temporarly), and I see some front bar to choose which side bar has to be activated at the time.
Its a pitty that this is only one picture, without any textual explanation.
Onto this Italian 4x4 theme I found few pic of aftermarket diff blocade and his components, but I am not so familiar with engeenering matters.
I just think you can find one more Idea as a alternative to very expensive original diff blocade and very complicated diff blocade components.

Thanks Aca(y). I´ve got one plan how t fab. the diff. lock but it won´t be posible I will make these brakes. On that photo it looks great. Firts time I try to make diff. lock and if I destroy my axel I can start doing:bang::bang::bang: . If i will see that my plan is imposible I will really start to working on these brakes.

Which ever way you do it keep us posted with the details!
 
I want to know your thoughts...
My plan is:
1. I want to make longer castellation on one gm
2. Make some castellations on diff. cage (if there is some right phrase I am sorry)
3. make some ring with tooth system which will be all time conected with that longer castellation on gm and make some system how to push that ring to diff. cage so that it will be able to conect the gm with cage and moke diff. locked.
What do you think about it?

(if I use some bad words I am sorry again:eek:) (I hope you will understand it rightly because I don´t know many technical verbs and I needed to use dictionary:eek::eek::eek:, and if you don´t understand write it and will try to explain it rightly)

I´ve seen these photos. this that solution for rich people which costs 600 or 700€:(. There is completely changed diff. and added that black thing which is controled from that lever. I just need to buy another axel and try my plan on it. If it will be right I will use this axel and write it there. But I can´t say when it will be implemented:cry::cry:. But if I will be succesfull be sure that I will wright it I will give there some drawing of it.
In this time it´s difficult to start working on something like this:cry::cry::cry:
