Hi all
Does anyone have the Treking model and can give some feedback as to how well the Electronic Traction control (LSD) works. I'm looking to replace my 4x4 Octavia with a more practical van like vehicle and until Fiat do the Qubo with the same 4x4 system as the Panada, it looks like to Trekking will have to do. I understand the Trekking model come with standard M&S tyres? I'll be needing for winter driving in remote places.

Ooh you've read my mind!

I have wondered if the lump from the Panda 4x4 would fit the Fiorino engine bay and if the rear axles are similar.. Not much point asking Senor Fiat I suppose. I still can't work out why the 75PS and 95PS engines are not the same looking but one is tweaked - they appear to be two different engines although their displacement is the same.
It might just be the cylinder head but the pics are quite different. Yet again almost impossible to see/find out info since everything's held so close to the Fiat corporate chest and you just can't get info and Haynes are dragging their feet over producing our way into seeing what's under the skin of the Fiorino/Qubo/Bipper/Tepee/Nemo.

Hi I can offer an opinion and some tech help I hope -

My opinion - the trekking is excellent all round. Mine has been all over the place and never let me down. Comfortable, efficient and practical what more can you ask? I don't go 'off road' but have used lots of gravel tracks/ grass tracks/ unsurfaced roads without any problems.

Tech help -

TRACTION - Living in Angus I've tested the Traction+ system on quite a few occasions... Given the weight over the front wheels I've found it to be a really good system but it will NOT get you everywhere a 4x4 will get you.

TYRES - Yes it comes with M+S rated tyres but (as an ex Michelin employee) all this means is the blocks are slightly further apart for extra grip. They are very good in snow (much better than all season tyres) but they are NOT cold weather tyres which come into their own at 7 deg C or less. I change mine in Oct and an extra set of steel rims will cost you £200 new + tyres.

Hope that helps without teaching you to suck eggs.:wave::wave::wave:(y)
