Hi,

I hope someone can help me. I have an 09 plate Panda, 1.1 eco and I am trying to find out where the Transponder aerial is located.

I have an error when the AA hook up to my car saying Transponder aerial error and we think the Aerial is kaboom.

Thanks
Andrew

Hi,

My keys start the car both old and new, it's the aerial for the remote unlocking I am trying to find.

Thanks

What, novway.

I spoke to Fiat gave them the reg n vin number, the said it hade remote locking, no surprised tho, they r full of poo.

Thanks 4 ur help, is there any way to make it remote locking as I have paid now for Fiat fob keys

So we are not after the transponder Ariel after all

my 2010 eco has remote

the Ariel for the remote comes from the body computer. I assume it goes up the plastic trim by the windscreen but have never needed to find out

if you haven't a remote to copy dont expect to use a cheap key. It can be done. The body computer has to be read. The information add to the key then the key activated in the body computer. Zed Bull full is I believe the only hardware to successfully do this. Although thing might have changed

look at the price for all keys lost.

The easiest option would be to get a key thats already programmed from Fiat. The its just a simple matter of adding it to the body computer even MES can do this

my 2010 eco has remote

2010 1.2 Dynamic Eco had remote central locking as standard; 2010 1.1 Active Eco had only key operated central locking. There wasn't an option to specify central locking on the Active when ordering from new; it's shown as "not available" in the options list in the 2010 Panda catalogue.

Upgrading an Active to remote locking is not trivial as there is no solenoid in the drivers door.

I'm lost

we start off looking for the transponder aerial

moved to the remote receiving aerial

Two pre programmed key fobs from Fiat which cost more than my car. Fiat cut and programmed and charged like a herd of elephants for keys that can't possible remotely open the drives door. (refund springs to mind)

The AA. Have a lost key service. But the originals still work fine ? But still came out and try and program the pre programmed keys to a car that didn't have remote unlocking solenoid in the drivers door.

it is an active ?

I believe Paula successfully added remote to an eco active. Probably a third party kit.

Unfortunately they were last active 6 years ago and doesn't say what was required

Am pleased to say that finally my little Panda Active now has remote central locking fitted. It's wonderful to be able press a button and lock or unlock the car.

I must say thank you to all who got in touch and advised what was needed. My thanks to Kaye Seaton at Fiat UK whose invaluable help made this possible, by sourcing the part for the door. (I suggest that the 4 Fiat Dealerships in the North East send their parts staff back to technical school) Also my thanks to the auto electrician who kindly fitted the part along with the remote locking kit. I am one very happy lady panda owner.

Paula

There maybe some insurance / security issues if you go down a third party route.

Sorry, this should have read "There wasn't an option to specify remote central locking on the Active when ordering from new; it's shown as "not available" in the options list in the 2010 Panda catalogue." By this time all Pandas sold in the UK had at least basic central locking as standard.
