Technical Towing Weights

I have a 1.6 weekend estate, I have only had it 2 months.I had it for towing a trailer tent which weighs when loaded approx.600kg.Does anyone out there know if the car can cope with this weight as the book only says 400 kgs. I previously only had a 1300 Proton and that could tow 795 kg. I purchased this car thinking it would be alright as it was a bigger engine capacity.Please help urgently before I go ahead and fit a tow bar.

you will have two problems: First is excessive e quikly cluth deterioration, and secondly your brake pads.

Change the cluth to a JTD model (reinforced) and use a high carbon disc and softed pads.
