General Towing small caravan with a Panda

I think if you hooked a caravan to a Panda the front wheels would lift off the road with such a short wheelbase

Not sure if it's any use to you, but the stats for the 100hp are:

Unbraked towing weight: 400kg
Braked towing weight: 800kg

So I guess it would be a very small van!

can you get caravans with flared wheelarches, a little spoiler and 15" wheels

I thought the 100hp was not available with a tow bar, I guess this is just the dealer fit though.

The rock hard suspension on the hp would probably quite suit a small van tow!! And at least it has disc brakes all round. Not sure i would want that strain on the 4x4 drivetrain though.

Ive seen a panda towing a small Caravan, looks funny seeing a small car towing a caravan.

also seen one pulling a quite large trailer full of tree cuttings.

you could probably get away with towing a small trailer tent but i would think it'd struggle towing a caravan

I think the 4x4 powertrain would be great for towing, albeit slowly due to the 1.2 engine. The transmission can cope with the 1.MJ Diesel after all and if the front wheels slip then the rears take some of the strain.
I think that a Panda 4x4 pulling one of those Puck vans would look cool but my van would have to be painted Dry Turquoise to match the car!

The key with towing is the longer the wheelbase of the car the better as its inherently more stable.

I must admit, I do think caravans should be banned from the roads, especially with small underpowered cars towing them. Imagine how slow it will be on the road!

Sorry I can't help it if i loathe being stuck behind caravans being towed by underpowered cars and holding everyone else up.

I would seriously doubt an MJ would move very well after you have filled it with petrol.

My dad has just been looking at this and the dealer quoted that the braked towing weight was 600kg for all of the new pandas?

He does however have a tow bar fitted to his 100hp and says that it is capable of pulling much more... indeed he had a go in a medium size van at about 1000kg and said it was OK. Naturally if you were to two this weight it would leave you totally liable in terms of insurance etc...

In the end my dad bought a cheap suzuki grand vitara to pull his new van and therefore, personally I've not spoken to him since
