Would anyone know the torque setting for the rear axle nut on a 1938 Topolino 500a?
I have looked through my (Factory) Topolino w/shop manual, and although it is in French, I think that I would recognise a 'torque'setting' (reglage du couple). As per normal, there isn't one! As the nut is not tightening up against a 'taper' bearing, I think that you would be quite safe to do it up to that well know last setting on a torque-wrench---"F(lipping) Tight". Seriously, as the nut is secured by a split pin, just well and tight will do, the split-pin will stop the nut unwinding. Do you have a workshop manual for the Topolino? I have put my w/shop manual onto a USB stick---you are welcome to a copy. If you want a copy, contact me direct ( [email protected] ), let me have your address, and I will put a copy into the post to you. Although it is in French (long story), it is very well illustrated and there is always "Google" to help you with any translation problems.
