So you come on a public forum and expect people to admit to not just breaking the speed limit (let's be honest, many people will have gone 80-90mph in the outside lane at some point), but absolutely smashing it and giving you their figure?! I'm pretty sure the 150bhp and 165bhp Bravos can top 140MPH if pushed, but I'm not sure why you ever thought starting this thread was a good idea!

Forums like this can be visited by our fine upstanding police forces,

It's not the best of ideas to boast of how fast you were travelling :nono:

Besides we are all squeaky clean and wouldn't dream of going over 68 mph on the motorway ;)

I have done 230km/h in from speedo so in real it must have been around 220km/h.

The car still felt like it could go faster but I didn't want to push it.

It's a remapped 1.9 120 multijet.

What do you care what his thread's about? are you the thought police around here?

If you don't find his question interesting, don't answer it.

If we follow your logic then the car's user manual which stipulates the top speed is written by the devil and we should all burn it.

No as that figure will have been gained in a safer testing environment, not bombing it on a public road

You assume everyone in this forum is from the UK which is far from true. The OP is from Argentina and I'm in Morocco.

Do you even know what the speed limit is in those countries?

Also, you're way too paranoid.

I didn't, but I do now: [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_limits_by_country[/ame]

I Have done 120mph on a air field track day event, from looking at the revs i think it would probably achive something between 130 to 140 mph (150 T JET )

Your motorway speed limit is 120 kph, and in Argentina 120-130 kph

You would do well to remember that there is a large number of UK members in this forum, but i can assure you that I do NOT assume that everyone is from the UK.

So get your facts right BEFORE accusing someone of assuming something when they did not!

Then don't tell us about your "upstanding police forces" because it doesn't matter especially to non-UK people.

They have their own upstanding Police forces that matter to them, but not to us in the uk.

No doubt you have your own police forces - whether or not they are upstanding, well that I do not know - but with your attitude tonight perhaps they are not.

I just realized that I'm talking to someone who's afraid of being arrested for speeding on an internet forum...

Top speed threads are very un-welcomed on most internet sites.

If you want a better insight, then head over to the Astra owners club website. I've seen people get utterly ripped apart for advertising their GSi can do 120mph+ on a motorway etc. It's quite a sore point and very often causes large arguments.

Unless you head over to somewhere like a airfield then I doubt people are getting top speeds on track days as the straights aren't long enough to reach those speeds. I can really only assume that people are using elongated public roads to reach such speeds.

I think the main problem I have is that people choose to test "limits" on public roads which means indirectly you are involving other motorists who just want to get home to loved ones etc and don't really wish to get wrapped up in a potentially lethal accident. I'm sure there are those that "safely" do this but there are also those that take silly risks.

I'm no angel, I've tried this myself a couple of times down a popular road near me. But that was over 3 years ago now and after having a child my outlook has changed massively.

Don't want to argue with anyone here, just voicing my opinion :)

Thanks for the reply guys, but i dont wonth problems.
I have a bravo multiar 1.4t remaped, the dyno say 162 cv.
I have another cuestión.
I remap the car whit 5600 koilometers, its that bad tho the engine?here in argentina the bravos are a new cars and dont have much experience

I wouldn't say remapping a car at low mileage would hurt the car in anyway? Unless anyone else can think of a reason why.. As long as you aren't ragging the car hard everywhere you drive I can't see any issues...

Sorry to wade in on this one, but who cares what the top speed of your Bravo is?
How often are you going to need that kind of speed and how often are you going to want to rev the nuts off your car to get there?
Your Bravo is a family hatchback, not a track car and it is certainly not designed for driving dangerously on the public highway.:bang:

Have to agree with RobBravo on this one - there are a lot of idiots out there and those sitting at home wondering how fast they can go tend to fall squarely in that category - sorry guys(n)
