Tips on gaining weight

lots of protein, chicken and shakes. ALL the time. if you're going to the gym alot, you need to take in more calories than you actually burn at the gym, if you burn all of what you've taken in, you'll stay the same. so if you wanna gain mass... you have to eat alot, but you aint gonna be able to do that in 3 normal meals a day... eat little and often, like 6-8 small protein packed meals a day! egg white omlettes are great. they are full of protien, ncie and filling and eggs are cheap!

before you goto the gym you wanna have a protein shake, and as soon as possible after you've been on the weights, this is to feed your muscles and help them repair faster.

creatine supplements are good for people wanting to gain mass.

and then common sense stuff.... drink plenty of water and be well rested (y)

(i used to go out with a body builder  )

add some roids to that and your set:)

Anabolic steroids are a known cause of serious health problems as mentioned above and known full well to the medical and science world. Do you still want to encourage someone to add them to their bulking up options?
its he's choice! ill be back on them as soon as i get a new job and don't really care about the health risks. sitting down all day watching tv drinking coke and eating cheese sandwichs is just as bad for you

Its not shrinking of your balls its lower sperm count :woot:
I have never taken roids but i presume the ***** temporarily shrinks directly after use just like most hormone/chemical balance changing drugs.

Its this part that would most worry me.
"Since sexual desire and aggressiveness are increased during AS use, the risk of getting involved in sexual assault may be increased." But i doubt it is any different to taking X2C tbh.

Good for you. Maybe I'll see you at a later date in the specialist cardiac hospital I'm now working in. You can chat and share experiences with the ex athlete I've been caring for whose past abuse of anabolic steroids has given him cardiomyopathy. Now his only chance of long term survival is a heart transplant. In the meantime he's surviving with an LVAD mechanical heart (Left Ventricular Assistive Device), which is great if you want to have an electrical pump implanted into your chest and the need to carry around large battery packs with you to keep it powered if you ever want to leave the ward (y)

Obviously you didn't read the link I posted properly...

That's the primary and initially diagnosible symptom Stu. However, as the article also stated "prolonged use of anabolic steroids in relatively high doses will lead to hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism."

Hypogonadism and testosterone deficiency can cause the following symptoms:

"Adult-onset testosterone deficiency has varied manifestations depending on the degree and duration of the deficiency. Decreased libido; erectile dysfunction; decline in cognitive skills, such as visual-spatial interpretation; sleep disturbances; vasomotor instability (in acute, severe male hypogonadism); and mood changes, such as depression and anger, are common. Decreased lean body mass, increased visceral fat, testicular atrophy, osteopenia, gynecomastia, and sparse body hair typically take months to years to develop. Testosterone deficiency may increase the risk of coronary artery disease."

Testicular atrophy is defined as:

"a medical condition in which the male reproductive organs (the testes, which in humans are located in the scrotum) diminish in size and may be accompanied by loss of function. This does not refer to temporary changes, such as those brought on by cold.

Some medications can cause testicular atrophy. Anabolic-Androgenic Steroids (AAS) can cause testicular atrophy by reducing the amount of luteinizing hormone (LH) produced by the pituitary gland."

Still, for those that want to quickly build up body muscle without the usual physical hard work I guess all the above are risks they're prepared to take. Hell, it can't be any worse than eating the odd greasy burger can it, despite what all those scientific and medical people say ;)

heres what i did

*passed driving test so stopped biking everywhere or walking everywhere
*stopped mountain biking because of foot and mouth so put bike into storage
*went to university, lived off crap food and beer
*graduated and got a job that involves sitting at a desk all day. I have moved on and up in the world but still have a job that requires a minimum 35 hours a week at desk, without extra time added (which can and often does take it a lot higher).
*get a job that involves 60 mile a day round trip spending about 3-4 hours a day in rush hour traffic
*eat like a mouse and the wrong time of day because of said job (but dont snack)
*have a penchant for crap foods and stuff that cooks easy
*spend all weekend recovering from work and doing not much

it soon adds up. im about 5 stone overweight now

Guys/gals

went a bit OT with the roids thing its an area i am not particularly interested in, however i do have a few mates who have taken them in the past and know the results they bring, but i am also aware of the damage they cause also, expecially if you develop an addiction or dependence on them

They could get me some should i develop an interest, but its a no go area for me at this present time

Started properly last night at work and carrying on and enjoying it, just had cereal, fruit and yoghurt throughout the night.

I havent eaten anything in 3 and a bit hours and am a bit peckish so off for a big carvery which will take me to mid afternoon.

I have set up a meal plan over 5 days (then return cycle back to start) which includes a different potein filled meat dish everyday for main teatime as well as smaller meals for breakfast and tea plus regular snacking as well. I have currently left the weekend, certainly saturday, free in terms of a main meal as i dont know what ill be up to

Creatine supplements sound interesting any recommendations?

eating lots of pasta made me fatter once. i was having pasta salds at lunch and then things like spag bal and italian stuff. stopped eating it and shrunk again

theres a difference between gaining weight, and gaining mass though.

my guess is applesei doesnt want a pot belly, he wants to be bigger in a sense of more mucle mass (which works out as weight)

its weird... i know so much... yet im still a rate fatty cos i never put any of my knowledge into practice in my own life  haha

Drink those sahkes that make you gain weight, Get a home job and pig out on the sofa to girly movies.

Don't shave or wash that will make you feel more of a man not like a little man, Maybe... lol

Get a job in a warehouse like I have! Lifting and moving big boxes all day does wonders for you. I'm a right skinny bugger but I'm slowly building muscles through working there and a mate of mine being a gym instructor. He recommends lots of fish, pasta and protein shakes while sticking to a daily routine on exercises, doing one every other day and then another set inbetween to exercise another muscle group.(y)
