Tipo 1.4

i am thinking of get another car, and have been offerd a Tipo 1.4, L reg, Blue, under 50k in vgc for £450
any of you had a 1.4 tipo? and is this a good price?

Dunno about the price.
Teapot 1.4 DGT owned for nearly 10 years, best motor I have owned.
Sad day when she gave up the ghost!

Have to say they are built to last bud..very good car from experience! not bad price aswell for the age and milliage bud.

I have had 4 Tipo's. 3 1.4's a 1.8 Grantourismo and a 2.0 Sedicivalvole.

The first 1.4 was a dream, the middle one burned a litre of oil every 500 miles and the fourth one was a dog.

For £450 with under 50k, go for it, but check that gear box thoroughly.

The 1.4 s, 1.8 and 2.0 were all both fine cars but by and large the 1.4ies's weren't so hot. Gear box, clutch and head gasket failures on the last one, the other was a bad oil burner.

Good luck with yours if you go for it.

I thought the Tipo was a hugely under-rated car and it was this machine that first got me into Fiats.

Couldn't agree with you more Rory.
The fact that I kept mine for almost 10 years is testimonial to it being a great motor.
Comfort, ease of access, acceleration, reliability...I could go on.
