its not the belt or bottom end set up im concerned about thats the easy bit, i have fitted new cam seals which were also easy and i did mark the cam pullys but i think whoever had the car befor me fitted a new timing belt/water pump/tentioner and idler pully but i think its a notch out, its runs great but idle is a little off and i have checked all the obvious like air/vacuum leaks/map sensor/idle control valve, i was just wondering if you guys knew of any marks on the cam pullys to save me haveing to buy the locking tools

sorted ( air leak ), but just for the record they dont have any markings to line up but as long as you line everything up and mark them as i did the job is a doddle and you wont need the locking tools, for a cambelt change i used a multi cam pully locking tool which prevents the cams from moveing while fitting the new belt and beleieve me its a must on this engine as its new to me not to have a rocker cover to remove and see inside for markings on the cams, it is a one piece construction for each side exaust and inlet
