hello, I have a boat with Vetus engine, the base is a 1.9 JTD 140HP. Fiat. Diesel. I want to replace the timing belt but can't find the mark on the block. Who can indicate the correct mark?

Hello,
The engine casting is different to the vehicle type.
There Is no cam position sensor visible under camshaft sprocket.

Is your engine 16 valves?

From what i am used too In the photos the crank and cam sprocket marks look very wrong . Do not crank the engine on starter motor unless you can turn the crank shaft very gently using a spanner at least two complete revolutions.
The belt tensioner tension indicator also looks wrong.
It is not unknown for the key on the camshaft sprocket to be damaged rendering the timing mark on the sprocket useless.

That video should help you out .
A belt with the required lines on could be necessary for you.
I suggest you check the key in the cam shaft sprocket is intact.
Make your own mark on engine case above cam sprocket for next time.

If you can remove the valve cover both inlet and exhaust valves on cylinder 4 should be equally partly open when piston 1 at top dead centre.
