Ticking from front wipers

I have noticed a ticking noise coming from the front wipers when they are parked. If I wipe the windows once the ticking stops for about 10 secs.

On further investigation when the wipers are ticking if I gently push the wiper arm further down the screen the ticking stops.

Is this the impending demise of my front wiper motor ?
Or is it to do with the wiper assembly ?
Or is it simply my cr*ppy Halfords wiper blades ?

Any help/info appreciated :)

Re: Ticking with Wipers

Heya,

my Bravo does exactly the same thing.. when the wiper returns back to the original position, it tries to move about another cm up, I've no idea why it does this.. However to cure the 'ticking' problem, you either have to WD-40 the motor or everytime the wiper goes back to it's original position hit the left stalk up once very fast and the wipers will move 1cm upwards and the ticking will stop.

I thought it was the fuel sender pump in the beginning, heh..

Hope this sorts your problem out.

Ps. Between the words 'position' and 'hit' put an 'or' between them. oops :)

Re: Re: Ticking with Wipers

Why will hitting the indicator stalk move the wipers 1cm? LOL!!!

Re: Re: Re: Ticking with Wipers

it will be the self park sensor.

It thinks the wipers arent parked even tho they are.

No idea how to fix it tho!
