i posted the other day about my brava cutting out when putting in to neutral and was told it could well be the tps[throttle position sensor] well after spending £33 it done jack shite and the problem is still there anyelse got any bright ideas to how i can fix this or eventhrow my money away?

It would have helped if you'd given more details and actually replied to questions asked about your car.

This is a FREE forum giving FREE advice. None of us work for Fiat, we are just enthusiasts who TRY to help.

yeh i know that and i did give a few more details like its a 1.2 on a 51 plate etc

If I was asking for peoples kind help I dont think I would have worded that quite like you did!
If you want it fixed take it to FIAT, if you want theoretical advice of potential solutions then this is the place. We cant see, hear or repair your car over the PC!

i took it to fiat and they did 3 diagnostic checks and they aint got a bloody clue i was just wondering if any one else had a similar problem and if they rectified it. So far i've spent £200 on the bleeding thing and it still cuts out if you take your foot off the accelerator pedal when slowing down. I am just curious to see if it is an anomily cause i am usually jinxed anyway lol.

You replied in a new thread with a different title, it usually helps to reply with information relating to questions asked in a thread in the same thread :)

Have you tried cleaning the throttle body?

I think you would have had a warmer response if you had said something a bit like....

"thanx for the help but its still playing up! any other suggestions"

Remeber the people on here do not have to help you as they get nothing out of it?

You asked for help and you was given what they thought was the answer, not what they know the answer to be!!!! I am sure no one said in the thread "I NO THE ANSWER I PROMISE YOU THIS WILL SOLVE IT!"... if you called up a garage they would say ok its blah blah blah they would ask you to bring the car in so they can check it out! If tom or graham or anyone else could fix cars from there PC then they would be very rich! (and not driving bravos!lol...)

I have the same problem with mine (1.2 80sx, 2000) took it to Fiat the diagnosedd it as being one of two things, the whole throttle body at £500+, or the throttle valve at £170ish, needless to say I opted for the latter, only to find out that my car still cuts out. I was at the time a student and could barely justify in spending that amount of money on a potential fix at best, even £500+ on a car which is probably only worth £2000 isn't even in contention to happening now that I'm in full time employment.

Sorry to be the burden of potential bad news

i know it was only advice and i know its up to me if i take it but as for a warmer response im sething....the car has been a heap of **** since i bought it but thats what i get for down grading lol i want my beemer back!!

Well, may i apologise on behalf of the entire forum that your bravo has been a heap of ****. It is obviously entirely our fault. Please accept our humblest apologies.

Silly question but...

When did you last change the oil and did you put the correct viscosity oil in or some cheap stuff?

NO! thats what you get for buying a doggy bravo! there are doggy beemers out there 2! an friend of mines dad has a 3.0d X5 bought it brand new and its forever breaking down and being repared! at the end of 18months it had spent 6months in the garage! to be fair though he did get a refund after 18months!!! to keep him quiet! my brother had a 328 on a T plate and he had loads of problems aswell! So its not down grading is just luck if you get a good one or not! and the X5 proves that it doesnt matter if its new or used!
