General thrust bearing??? clutch???

hey, i recently all of a sudden started to get like a crunching sensation when i used my clutch, which also makes abit of an odd noise too, i was told its the thrust bearing??? that its a cheap part but difficult to fix??? is that right??? thanks alot

yes, its the bearing that pushes on the spinning clutch its about a tenner or summat, but the whole gearbox has to come out to replace it.

the punto has to be the easiest car to take a gearbox out off so you could have a go yourself

also you would be mad to take it off and not buy a hole clutch kit and fit it

also when release bearings start to make noise aspecialy as quick as yours has it's because the release bearing has failed then warn through the release finger's fiat later changed the design of the release bearings to stop this happening

so you would be wise to buy a hole clutch anyway

should be something like 35 to 40 quid

also if you phone your local parts depo and ask if they have a valeo clutch they are very good clutches with a nice light feel and cheap
