General Throttle position sensor ??

Hi , I have an 07 Citroen relay/ same as ducato obviously , I have a throttle fault, if I'm idling it will tick over really high ( occasionally ) but if I dab the brake (?!?!?) the revs will drop , sometimes this will work sometimes it won't , other times it will rev really high as I'm driving but only for a few seconds, I had someone put a meter on it a short while ago and it was showing throttle position sensor fault code but someone told me the fault doesn't sound like the sensor, I'm a bit lost, I've rung main dealer up for the part and they said it's not listed as throttle position sensor it's listed as a hose, what looks like the sensor is built into the hose, £22!!!! Does anyone have any thoughts please ?

If it was mine I would start with cleaning the throttle position sensor tracks and wipers: http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/servisol-super-10-switch-contact-cleaner-200ml-jp17t

Get a cheap kkl or elm cable and use multiecuscan to monitor gas pedal position track 1 and track 2 when its ok and when its faulting.
