Technical rear position lights do not burn

Dears, after a terrible weather the rear ritht light was broken by hail. Now both rear position lights do not burn and I could not find any fuses for the position lights in the owner's manual. What could it be? I was demounting the rear light but single lamps are ok.

I perhaps discovered how it works; front position lights are always "on". Rear position lights are "on" only when the low beams are also switched on.
If this is normal ok. But where is the logic?

The front lights will be working as "daytime's running lights"
As required by EU law as they have been shown to reduce the likelihood of accidents especially those with pedestrians not realising the car is moving and not parked

This is perfectly normal
