The time has come...

The old girl does not like being washed, she decided to be a stroppy bitch this morning and missfired all the way to work. :(

Just left her with the bonnet open and all the plug leads off for a bit and reseated all the connectors and now she goes again.

All 4 injectors are at 16ohm and both coils are 9.8k/0.6ohm so electrically she is fine.

Might treat her to a new set of plugs.

@Tom - dont wash the car more than 2 a year, I found out they run better and smother when unwashed. But be warned: you will prob. stick out like **** in a punch bowl! :)

For some reason I thought you were going to say Galvanise! :)

Damn stroppy cow missfired most of the way home... stopped off and got her some new plugs, albeit NGK multielectrodes cos they were out of Bosch.

When I put the plug spanner down the hole there was a rather alarming squeltch, there was still quite a bit of water down the plug hole. All dried out and did a quick compression test, about 200PSI on all 4. About 5PSI down on its last check about 2 years ago.

She drives perfectly now. :)

Its a bit of a design oversight the way they put the inlet runners OVER the cam covers on the 1.6, I really need to take mine to bits and clean it out, there is a mix of oil and dead leaves between the cam covers. :(
