and they are saying you have to go back into work? cant be right you may have booked an expencive trip away
There saying i have to work a shift otherwise my holidays will be cancelled. Its not like its my fault iv done my back in is it :/
get another sick note and claim back all your holiday

can some thing that trips your circuit breaker as soon as its switched on still pass a pat test?
I don't think so as pat test normally results in plugging it into a tester box also.

No it should fail.

its a little arc welder from an auction, came with no plug that i thought strange, fitted a brand new one plugged in switched it on an it trips off, ive plugged other welders into the same socket with no problems
All appliances should be sold second hand without a plug because if there is a fault and the plug is fitted then the seller is responsible. If there is no plug then the buyer assumes that responsibility.
this auctions rules are if the plug isn't up to BS 1363 standard then they fit a new one and charge for it, i didn't think they gave the option of no plug.
turns out all is well though was using a dodgy extension lead, removed that and all is working fine. :slayer:
Pat tester is useless. Been thru all this at work. Most stuff can pass a test but most of the test relies on a physical examination of the item.
For example an item could have bare live wires hanging out or damage to the cable or covers missing but still pass a pat test... But would you pass it as safe?

has this barrow/truck/trolley got a special name? i want to sell it but don't know what to advertise it as
