Righ ran squire yesterday and best was. Quinn @ £2066.77 with £250 excess.

My current inusarnce is approx £2500 (thi is what my mum tells me)

Last time I ran some quotes (about two weeks ago) the best quote I had was as good as £3k. Plus car is in process of being signed to me and insurance is getting put in my name with everything fitted/waiting to be fitted declared.

Your getting bulled. As it says about he's in a high crime area.

Do your Pass Plus, with that on such as admirals price would be down to about £1400 or less from £1900.

Depends what your using it for, if it's just for getting to and from work and maybe a bit of cross-country it's fine, I wouldn't go downhilling on it though. If you're going to be riding it on the road I'd invest in a 2nd set of wheels with slick tyres on - at £195 though you can't go far wrong (y)

Cheers Eklipze! - Was thinking my thread had disappeard in the insurance bullcr*p. Using it mainly for off-roading/tow-paths. Want to get a bit more into the off-roading, but unfortunately on a bit of a budget.

Won't be using it on the road. Have a carbon frame road bike for that :)

the trick is rolf, dont attach your photo with the quote request (y)

have you tried physically ringing specalist insurers? if i was to go via a comparison website saying what modifications my 1.2 bravo had, they would rape me. however specalist insurers are much more reasonable.

ive even done the hard part for you. and if you're too scared to talk to strangers, im sure your mum would gladly ring them up... i mean shes paying for it afterall... shes probably anxious to get a good deal too (y)

I wouldn't be suprised if Rolf has just curled up into a corner and died with that post!

lol i dont attach photos anyhow.

just ran a quote using mony supermarkets section for young drivers and got quoted £2157.19 with alloys, induction kit, tints, exhaust and suspension. thats cheaper than what ive got at the moment with erm not all of those fitted.

have you tried any companys that arent on websites like that? ones that are especially for modded cars or young drivers and ones that usually give discounts to members of forums like this!

Ignor the comparison sites they are evil and have over inflated prices ;) I got quoted silly money from one a few years ago - rang the same insurer direct and it was easily 25% cheaper ;) as for my landy the comparison sites were comming back with quotes will into the 1k where as found a specialist and it's now fully comp harldy any excess for just over 200 :) and that's with my mods delcared :)

Same story with the bora - got quotes of £800+ on comparison sites, phoned churchll direct and got it for £300 odd, and that includes adding my GF and unlimited business miles.

You need to ring them when young. Internet quotes are never decent online. I got my Tjet down to 600 for standard when i phoned up and £660 with mods declared, then a couple of months into my policy and added on Intercooler and exhaust + 10% power gaint and it put £100 on.

Absolutely the opposite for me and my friends.
Me and Dad rang lots of companies in the yellow pages last night. About an hours worth of ringing. They were averaging ~£2600. I didn't even get chance to say my mods due to it being so steep. Went on gocompare, managed £1500 with Quinn direct with my mods declared. as a student, car in my name etc etc. I did however put my parents as named drivers, Dads been driving 37 years.
College friends are in same boat.
Must be location or something.
