Always wanted a 147, a lot i find second hand seem to have higher mileage than i want though.. so, guess theyre good?
Pretty nice. It's like a classy / posh punto with more luxury. Don't expect it to be overly quick although it will be plenty quick enough although not overly economical![]()
They are normally pretty solid cars IMO. No major common problems. IIRC they have MAF sensor issues so check on test drive. Also have variators like the HGT Punto engine so listen at cold on start-up. Also have a good listen to the bottom end (although it's the 2.0's that seem to go rather than the 1.6/1.8).
And always check belt change history!
Have you looked at a bigger engined punto? Guessing it'll be more than the alfa though![]()
Ah right, well ill get my girlfriends dad to come with me and so he can test drive it for me because i cant (insurance wont let me drive other cars) and hes a trained mechanic so he will probably know about the problems more than likely. Its got a full service history too so hopefully belts will have been changed too and if not ill ask them to do it and then id probably buy it if everything else checks out. Cheers Chris![]()
Why buy a car if you're not going to TD it? It may be fine mechanically but you might not like it, seems a not so good way to buy a car IMO.
I would like to test drive it but the only way i can do that is to get myself insured on it which would cost money to do that just for the test drive then if i dont like it then have to take the insurance off the car unless theres another way to legally drive it?

Cheers dave, never knew that. Im gonna give my insurance a call and ask how much it would be to put that on instead of my punto too just to make sure so ill ask about it then.you get a cooling off period on insurance, so if you take out insurance and dont like it you can get all the money back
Have a look at garages, see if they have a similar one that you can take for a test drive, they should be able to cover you on their insurance.

With a prorata deduction for the time insured
14 day cooling off period = no admin fee![]()
