i reset it just after i pulled out from yours, it shot up to 55mpg then came down and settled at about 48

Yeah, all IR LED's are pretty much the same. If you have another LED lying around you could connect in parallel to test - e.g. connect a red (visible!) led and you should see it flash. Alternatively point the remote at a camera / webcam and you should see it flash.

TBH I would be surprised if it's the LED - more likely a cracked track. Do the above point-at-a-webcam test while gently flexing the board to see if it comes back to life.

tried that,1st thing i checked
its just a little remote and pretty flimsy (though it would cost £50+ new for the HDMI unit!)
like I said,changing the LED fixed it last time
I guess its jus a poor case design that impacts on the LED

im doing insurance quotes with just about everyone i can,i done one with aviva and was playing around with the voluntary excess option and if i paid more voluntary excess my quote went up

i thought a higher voluntary excess brings your premium down?

Im with Elephant Was with Admiral the previous year to that

when i got my renewal pack through from admiral, elephant beat it by £300. called admiral up, they refused to beat my renewal qoute as they felt it was the best price they could offer

but i could admiral, said, ive been quoted a price £300 cheaper than my renewal, can you beat it. I even said it was elephant.co.uk and they said they cant beat their renewal as they felt it was the best they could do

so the same company has offered me a differnt quote and cant even beat there own price :bang:

i also thought it was funny when i when on comparethemeerkat.com, admiral came up with a quote on there which was less than my renewal. should have mentioned that. but elephant came up cheaper elsewhere.

elephant probably needed a few more policy's or something so admiral gave it to them
