RESULT !!!!!
Disappointed about the one LED though but if everything else is working OK, so be it. I am not an electrician but is there no way we can test the LED with a Fluke meter or similar, using any of the others as a standard?

Damn! look what i found in the garage earlier when looking for a headlight....

oh i read the bit about the larger pics as i finished reading... ah well, eyesight it's overrated anyway.

good to hear that there is very little difference in the fuel economy of the CVT in comparison to the manual cars... I suppose the manual cars get pretty shocking mileage if they are driven between 80-90mph also...

Please note that this is not the same box as used in the Panda. The operating principles of the belt and pulley box are similar ( the VanDoorn system ) but the design of the box is different and the Uno box uses a converter rather than the Panda's electromagnetic clutch.

so what's a convertor when it's at home?... the Electro-clutch-thing is pretty obvious... but what is a convertor ...converting?...

was the Uno before the panda eCVT clutch design?... just wondering which one is better as a small car transmission...

Torque converter, as used on other manufacturers auto boxes. The Panda/Punto electro magnetic system must be viewed as the exception rather than the rule on auto boxes and is better suited to lower cc engines. You will notice that on the bigger cc cars, Uno, Tipo, Tempra etc, Fiat use torque converter boxes.

ah, i see... sort of. that'd explain why you see the CVT mark on saxo's and other smaller cars these days
